This book examines the best practices of academic writing by exploring how the writing process actually works; with particular attention paid to the various elements of the college essay format. Chapters on culturally responsive composition and best practices for incorporating generative A.I. into the writing classroom have also been added. This text was originally published as an introduction to Gurevich’s first OER, Critical Thinking, and later adapted to a separate OER entitled The Writing Process.
