The formal name for the numbers to count things is “cardinal numbers”. They are also called “natural numbers” or “counting numbers”. We will used the term counting numbers in this section.
Cardinal numbers or counting numbers are the same as the names of the numerals. We count one, two, three, four, et al. and these are the names of the numbers.
The names of the counting numbers:

2 two
3 three
4 four
5 five
6 six
7 seven
8 eight
9 nine
