Addition Word Problems
As you know, numbers count things. When you have a math problem that is asking you for the answer of things, the things attached to the answer are countable. The answer becomes a count noun when it is showing the number of something.
For example,
There are four red apples and five yellow apples. The countable noun “apples” is attached to both numbers. The question words for this math problem uses “how many.”
